After a crazy binge weekend, I felt like a blob all day. It was terrible! I could literally feel my stomach protruding- it must have expanded at least three inches from all the carbs I stuffed into my face over the past two days. Maybe that's a side effect of SBD... once you start cutting down on carbs, your body totally overreacts when you do eat them? I felt like I had a "food hangover," in that I was hungry and lethargic and my stomach was grumbly from the moment I woke up. And I was running late after crashing from too much Halloween partying on Saturday night, so I had to pack some leftovers for lunch and scarf some down for breakfast. Not a great start to the day:
Breakfast (Leftovers)
* 1 cup Eggplant Bharta
* 1 cup basmati rice
Lunch
* 1 cup Saag (Indian creamed spinach)
I got motivated near the end of the day and decided I am NOT going to mess up my diet anymore! So I walked to the gym (about 3/4 mile roundtrip) and did 30 minutes of cardio, and had dinner:
Dinner
* 3 cups iceberg lettuce with 2 tbs. Newman's Light ceasar dressing
* 2 tbs. fat-free sour cream, 1 cup chopped spinach, 1 tbs. taco sauce baked in a large egg roll wrapper
So, I'm glad I made it to the gym and all that, but seriously! That rice and egg roll wrapper absolutely KILLED my carb count for the day. Who knew that 1 cup of innocent-looking rice has 45 grams of carbs in it?! Ugh! My goal is to stay under 50 grams a day, and I ended up eating 113! Yuck.
Well, nothing I can do about it now. Tomorrow is another day.
